Event Highlights:
CRG has had the opportunity to serve the event needs of NetIQ’s NetConnect for four consecutive years. The goal for this year’s event was to create a fresh, energetic environment that fostered discussion and created excitement about the company’s new product strategy. The CRG event team implemented a sophisticated “around the world” welcome reception with eclectic appetizer options poolside at the resort. The reception was well attended and provided the perfect atmosphere for effective networking. This year NetIQ opted to use sponsorship kiosks in place of their standard tabletops from previous years. CRG streamlined the new process for collecting required graphic elements and ensured this area was a success from both NetIQ’s and the sponsors’ perspective.
The biggest challenge for this event was monitoring the hotel pick up pattern and making recommendations for an increased block to accommodate all of the attendees, while still avoiding attrition and financial liability on the part of NetIQ. To overcome this challenge, CRG worked with NetIQ to identify an overflow hotel when trends indicated that the original block would not house all of the attendees. CRG created a relationship with the overflow hotel and developed a solution, allowing attendees to call the hotel directly for reservations without the requirement of a contract on behalf of NetIQ, therefore limiting financial liability while still accommodating attendees. CRG also processed payment for the event as well as tracked and managed a series of registration codes based on attendee types tied to certain price points. The payment collection process was a success due to CRG’s responsiveness to attendee cancellations and refunds.
