When managing an exhibition hall, CRG’s logistical execution is focused on drawing people into the expo area, making the area easily navigable and working with the exhibitors to create booths that encourage the raw interaction between the exhibitors and the attendees. For Microsoft’s Business Intelligence Conference 2008, CRG worked with 39 exhibitors, 18 product groups and 4 Microsoft booths to determine their booth property requirements and the best logistical execution to drive the content of their booth. Some ideas we implemented were booths with interactive whiteboards that have a computer monitor mounted within the board, which promoted collaboration and discussion. We also set up Xbox lounges with Guitar Hero, Gears of War, and Rock Band on back-to-back plasmas, which were very successful at drawing in crowds. The expo reception featured sponsored ice bars, branded cups and strategically placed bars to encourage the flow through the exhibition hall to support attendance at the booths. The Expo Reception was so successful and beneficial to exhibitors that they’ve requested a second expo reception for the following year.
